BIDASOA ART RESIDENCY
Call for artists from any country and nationality (excepted Spanish) who do not live in Spain and wish to make a residency in the region of Bidasoa (Irun, Hendaia and Hondarribia), located between the Basque Country French and Spanish.
During the residency, the artist will work on her/his perception, a vision of the Basque Country that ’s why the artist will live in a Basque context during her/ his residence, with visits and interviews to different contemporary cultural entities. The objective is to develop a piece of art that we will later exhibit in different sites of Euskal Herria.
WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?
A 40-day stay during which the artist will have accommodation in Irun, as well as a studio workshop and workspace. In addition, you will get advice, production services and introductions to various individuals from the Basque Country’s art and cultural field to carry out your project.

DESIGN COMPETITION FOR TRADITIONAL BASQUE OBJECTS
The aim of this competition is to update the design of a traditional object present in Basque culture. The competition asks applicants to adapt, renovate and reinterpret traditional objects from the point of view of contemporary design, establishing new relationships with our history and broadening the lines of research and fields of action of design. In this way, the aim is to strengthen the links between tradition and contemporaneity, combining respect and recognition of craft design with the experimentation and potential of contemporary industrial design.
The piece to be reviewed in this call is the kriseilu.
This call is opened to any person or legal entity of any age (students, professionals or collectives) in the design field (industrial and product design, architecture, engineering, fine arts, etc.) from any country. Participation in the competition is free.

PROGRAMME FOR THE INTERNATIONALISATION OF CONTEMPORARY BASQUE ART
Bitamine is launching this call within the framework established by its plan for the internationalisation of contemporary Basque art. The aim of this programme is to encourage artistic research and production, contribute to the promotion of creators, and promote the international mobility of artists.
It is open to artistic projects by people living and working in the Basque Country.
WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?
The aid is developed in two phases. Initially, the project will be worked on for several months in the Basque context. Once it has been completed, it will be exported for presentation in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina), where it will be shown in different spaces that are benchmarks of current contemporary culture.
Together with local institutions, a calendar of activities will be established in which the artists will participate in different venues, museums, cultural spaces and local artists.
