MENDIAK

In Mendiak I ask myself about the contemporary mountain starting from the Amescoas Valley, and its two mountain ranges, Urbasa (Monte Limitaciones) and Loquiz. My aim is to make a short film with material created with/by the inhabitants of these places, complementing with conversations and readings the themes around these spaces, territorial limits and human limits.

Aizpea de Atxa (Iruñea, 1998) is a visual artist and performer.
A graduate in Art from the UPV/EHU, with a postgraduate degree in Cinematographic Creation (EQZE), she was co-coordinator of the 11th edition of Cine Ilegal in Bulegoa z/b together with Akane Saraiva. She made one of the ‘Memoria de los Encuentros 72-22’ of the Encuentros de Pamplona 72-22 and in 2019 she was awarded the Joaquín de la Plata Prize.
22 and in 2019 he received the Eusko Ikaskuntza-Laboral Kutxa Youth Award.
His work has been exhibited in, among others: Le Larraskito Kluba, Museo de Navarra, Palacio Baluarte and Centro Huarte.
