Laura Sam. Her work is linked to writing, oral poetry and music. As an author, she regularly attends festivals, recitals, and meetings at the national and international level as a guest. In 2023 she was invited to Rock al Parque (Bogotá), one of the most important free festivals in Latin America. Parallel to her career as an oral poet, Laura Sam works in the musical field, she has released an album with Juan Escribano "La Voz Contra" (2022), with the Oso Polita record label. She is currently working on new songs with different producers and artists. She has collaborated with musicians such as Kase.O, Abraham Boba (León Benavente) and Nacho Vegas. She collaborates as an artist with various institutions where she teaches writing and oral expression classes. "The physical poem" is the title of her new oral poetry workshop. She has published two collections of poems, Incendiaria (Arrebato Libros), and Geiser (Editorial Ya lo dice Casimiro Parker).
She currently works presenting two live formats, one solo, where she performs a selection of her most representative oral poems; and another with the musical format where she presents both the songs from her album "La Voz Contra", as well as new songs in which she is working with different artists and producers. In her shows we find themes ranging from social criticism, dissident motherhoods, to generational crises or eternal political unrest. In the poems, there is also a space for human, existential and philosophical questions, crossed by silence and stillness. Additionally, some of these poems are accompanied by recordings, songs, soundscapes or games with a voice pedal.
SYNOPSIS OF WORK IN THE RESIDENCE
The objective is to investigate the social, emotional and dialectical context of the geographical location in which we find ourselves. From that base, try to get closer to the reality that languages inhabit in the border framework and build from the language a narrative discourse in the format of a performance piece, soundscapes and/or songs. I am interested in people, their stories and their ways of speaking, and I will use the dialogues with different agents and artists in the area as a starting point, in addition to investigating how these ways of speaking place us in one social stratum or another, distance us or they bring us closer. I would like to approach the word from different languages, accents and expressions, ranging from one's own mother tongue (Spanish) with the accent of the south (Murcia), to Basque (the language learned and found) in addition to the languages that coexist in the border territory.

"Oral score of a river" is a sound piece that reveals the results of the research carried out by the artist Laura Sam around language and territory. Through different audio recordings, this living score brings together diverse voices that narrate, from multiple visions, the same geographical framework; the river and its border identity, the margin and the emotions that are written in it. With a marked experimental character, the piece alternates the spoken word of people linked to the territory with soundscapes and live collaborations of different local artists who intervene on stage and dialogue with said narratives. A poetic, oral and collective testimony that invites us to listen to the voice of the river.
